The Media Committee of Iran’s Minab 168 Negotiating Delegation announced that, due to pressure from this country’s negotiating delegation, the fragile ceasefire in Lebanon has been maintained so far, and a mechanism called the “War Control Unit” will be established with the presence of Iran to monitor its implementation.
In the section related to the management of the Strait of Hormuz, it has also been agreed to establish a special contact line between the parties so that in the event of problems in the implementation of the agreements, coordination and transmission of messages can be carried out directly.
According to this statement, Iran has emphasized that it will not enter the final stage of negotiations until the obligations stipulated in the memorandum of understanding are implemented, including the cessation of hostilities on all fronts, especially Lebanon, the beginning of the lifting of the naval blockade, the release of frozen assets, and the lifting of sanctions on oil, petrochemicals, and oil derivatives.
A memorandum of understanding regarding the release of frozen Iranian assets has also been signed between Iran and Qatar.
It further states that the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued documents related to the lifting of sanctions on oil, petrochemicals, and derivatives for a period of 60 days.
