A group of US senators have introduced a bill called the “SABER Act” that would allow Ukraine to use frozen Russian assets to purchase military equipment and weapons.
According to this plan, financial resources from seized Russian assets can be used to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities and meet the country’s military needs.
Meanwhile, the “REPO Act”, which has already been implemented in the United States, authorizes the seizure of frozen Russian sovereign assets in US jurisdiction and their transfer to Ukraine.
Russia has repeatedly condemned the freezing and confiscation of its assets in Western countries, and its Foreign Ministry has called such actions “theft.”
