France signs agreement to deploy military forces in Cyprus

According to reports, the French government is planning to sign an agreement with the Cypriot government that will allow the deployment of French military forces in the country.

The agreement is set to be signed in the Cypriot capital, Nicosia, between French Armed Forces Minister Catherine Vautrin and Cypriot Defense Minister Vassilis Palmas.

It is said that this agreement is aimed at expanding defense and security cooperation between France and Cyprus and strengthening Paris’ military presence in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
