United Nations: Global cooperation is essential to ensure peace and development
On the occasion of this organization’s day, the United Nations has emphasized that the future of humanity depends on the ability of countries to cooperate to ensure peace, development, and the protection of human rights.
The organization said in a message that for more than eight decades, it has worked to improve people’s lives, resolve disputes through diplomacy, fight poverty and hunger, support human rights, and provide assistance to those in need.
Based on this message, protecting the environment, supporting gender equality, and providing equal opportunities for countries to participate in the global arena are also important responsibilities of the United Nations.
The United Nations has added that conflicts, climate crises, increasing inequalities, and developments resulting from new technologies are among the major challenges facing the world today, which require greater international cooperation to address.
The organization has called on countries to prioritize dialogue, cooperation and solidarity instead of differences and confrontation, and to adhere to the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law; the organization has also emphasized the need to strengthen its capacities to better respond to people’s needs and address global challenges.
