Saudi scientists create cooling system without electricity
Researchers at King Abdullah University of Science have introduced a new cooling system called “NESCOD” that cools the environment without the need for electricity, even in extreme heat.
The system works using an endothermic dissolution process and solar energy and is designed as an environmentally friendly solution for hot areas away from the power grid.
Scientists have said that this system can maintain temperatures between 5 and 15 degrees Celsius and is suitable for cold chain food storage and space cooling.
According to the researchers, the materials used in this system are cheap and accessible, and NESCOD could be a suitable option for developing countries and underserved areas.
