Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement rejecting the CBS News report on Iranian military aircraft using Pakistani air bases, calling it “misleading and controversial.”
CBS News reported, citing American officials, that Pakistan, as part of its mediating role in the Middle East conflict, has allowed Iranian planes to stop and use some air bases.
In response, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced that after the ceasefire was established and talks began in Islamabad, a number of Iranian and American planes arrived in Pakistan to transport diplomats, security teams, and administrative staff.
The statement said the temporary presence of these aircraft “has no bearing on the military situation or operational arrangements and the report aims to undermine Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace and stability.”
At the same time, Zabihullah Mujahid has also denied the presence of any Iranian aircraft in Afghanistan, saying: “This is not true and Iran does not need to do such a thing.”
