Trump will visit China on Wednesday
US President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit China on Wednesday and hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Iran, bilateral economic relations, and some important global issues.
According to Al Jazeera, White House Deputy Spokesperson Anna Kelly said that the official welcoming ceremony and meeting of the two leaders will be held on Thursday and the trip will end on Friday.
The White House has announced that the trip will have great “symbolic significance” and will focus on balancing relations with China and ensuring fairness and reciprocity in economic relations.
Reports indicate that during this meeting, Trump may pressure China to reduce its purchases of Iranian oil and exports of dual-use goods to Tehran.
This trip comes as tensions in the region following the US-Israeli war against Iran and Tehran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz have affected the global economy and energy markets.
A number of large American companies, including the Boeing aircraft manufacturer and some agricultural companies, will also accompany Trump on this trip.
