Continuing his contradictory statements, US President Donald Trump has said that talks with Islamabad may be held on Friday.
This is despite Iran having announced that it will not participate in any negotiations until the US naval blockade is lifted, considering it a violation of the ceasefire.
In an interview with the New York Post, Trump also claimed that a second round of talks is likely to be held in the coming days and that a 3-5 day deadline may even be set for a halt to the fighting, although he did not provide a specific timetable.
Meanwhile, a Pakistani official has said that Pakistan is trying to manage the differences between the American and Iranian sides and take into account the sensitivities of both sides.
