Tsunami warning in Japan after 7.5 magnitude earthquake
A tsunami warning has been issued after a magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck the Pacific Ocean off the northeastern coast of the island of Honshu. The tremors were felt as far away as Tokyo.
So far, two waves have reached the coast of Iwate Prefecture. The height of these waves is currently reported to be relatively low, around 40 to 80 centimeters, while the wave height was expected to reach 3 meters.
Evacuation orders have been issued for at least 20,000 residents of Iwate Prefecture.
