Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei became the third leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran
The Assembly of Experts, with an overwhelming majority of votes, introduced Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the third leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
This choice was made at a time when Iran was engaged in a full-scale war with the United States and the Zionist regime, and many analysts predicted that the announcement of a new leader would be postponed until after the end of the war.
The Financial Times reported, “Some analysts believed Iran would delay announcing a new leader until after the war, but the swift election of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei is a clear sign of Iran’s continued resolute and unwavering resistance to foreign aggression.”
Ayatollah Seyyed Mujtaba Khamenei, the son of the martyred Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, the former leader of the Islamic Revolution, was previously known in scientific and revolutionary circles as one of the prominent seminary and political figures.
