Russia announces successful launch of Soyuz-2.1B rocket with military satellites

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that on Thursday (6 February 2026), a Soyuz-2.1b rocket carrying the country’s Soyuz-2.1b was successfully launched into space from the Belaisk space base in the north.

According to an official statement from the Ministry of Defense, the missile was carrying several military satellites belonging to the Russian Armed Forces, which were placed in the designated orbit as planned.

The Ministry of Defense did not provide further details about the type, number, or exact mission of these satellites, but emphasized that the launch operation was carried out without any technical disruptions and that all steps proceeded according to plan.

The Blyatsk Space Center is one of the main centers for Russian military launches, and most missions related to the Ministry of Defense take place from this base.

The Soyuz rocket family is considered one of Russia’s most reliable space carriers and has been widely used in recent years for military, intelligence, scientific, and commercial missions.
