More than 11,800 Afghan migrants return from Iran and Pakistan in one day
The High Commission for Refugees announced that a total of 11,855 Afghan refugees were forcibly returned to the country from Iran and Pakistan on Monday.
Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, said in a statement that the migrants, consisting of 2,102 families, entered the country through the borders of Islam Qala (Herat), Silk Bridge, Nimroz, Spin Boldak (Kandahar), Bahramche, Helmand and Torkham, Nangarhar).
According to this report, on the same day, another 2,287 families (13,246 people) were relocated to their original areas, and 1,760 families received cash and non-cash assistance.
Also, 1,060 telecommunication network SIM cards have been distributed among the immigrants.
The massive return of Afghan refugees from Iran and Pakistan has increased sharply in recent weeks and the High Commission for Refugees is trying to provide accommodation and assistance to these families in coordination with relevant agencies.
