China launches its new naval giant, the world’s largest non-nuclear aircraft carrier
In a grand ceremony attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, the country’s third advanced aircraft carrier, Fujian, was officially launched and entered operational phase.
This giant ship, with a displacement capacity of more than 80,000 tons, holds the title of the largest non-nuclear aircraft carrier in the world and is a symbol of the Chinese Navy’s remarkable progress in the field of military technology.
Fujian, which began its sea trials in 2024, is the first Chinese aircraft carrier equipped with the Electromagnetic Launch System (EMALS).
This advanced technology, previously only used on American ships like the USS Gerald R. Ford, allows for faster launch of fighter jets, heavier payloads, and more efficient operations in a variety of conditions.
International analysts see this event as a turning point in the balance of military power in Asia and warn that tensions in the region may increase.
