NASA has the plan to build glass cities on the moon
NASA has invested in an innovative project to colonize the moon.
The plan, designed by California-based company Skyeports, relies on building massive glass domes from lunar soil (regolith).
These domes, built using silicates found in lunar soil, could become self-sufficient cities with internal ecosystems.
The manufacturing process involves sending a microwave oven to the moon, which melts the regolith and then injects compressed gas to create giant glass bubbles.
These bubbles form into perfect, resilient spheres in the low gravity of the moon.
This plan, by utilizing local resources, eliminates the prohibitive costs of transporting materials from Earth and is a major step towards sustainable habitation on the Moon.
