Anti-Israeli protest outside US embassy in Pakistan leaves two dead, dozens injured in clashes

The massive demonstration by the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) party began from Lahore towards the capital Islamabad, and protesters chanted slogans in support of Palestine, aiming to hold an anti-Israeli protest in front of the US embassy.

This demonstration, which is being held under the title “Labbayk or Al-Aqsa Million March,” was formed in response to the alleged Gaza agreement and accusations against the Pakistani government and its army of collaborating with Israel and the United States.

Two people were killed during violent clashes between protesters and Pakistani police forces in Lahore and on the roads leading to Islamabad; one was a police officer and the other was a protester.

Dozens of people were injured, including several police and protesters.

The US Embassy in Islamabad also issued an urgent warning to its citizens to avoid public roads in Lahore and Islamabad, and warned of the possibility of traffic disruption, increased checkpoints, and disruption of communication networks.
