Islamic Emirate Foreign Ministry’s response to Trump’s statements about Bagram base

Zakir Jalali, the second political director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, in response to US President Donald Trump’s statements regarding the retaking of Bagram Air Base, emphasized that the presence of a foreign military has never been accepted by the Afghan people in the history of the country.

He wrote on his page X that the February Doha Agreement explicitly rejected any foreign military presence in the country.

Jalali added: “Afghanistan and the United States need to interact with each other and can establish economic and political relations based on mutual respect and common interests without the United States having a military presence in any part of the country.”

He rejected Trump’s statements about the strategic importance of Bagram due to its proximity to China, saying that the base is under the full control of the Islamic Emirate and that no foreign forces are present there.

This reaction comes after the US President spoke yesterday at a conference in Britain about trying to retake Bagram due to its geographical location.
