Atlas humanoid robot with new behavioral model, a step towards human behavior
Boston Dynamics has released a new video of its Atlas humanoid robot, showing the robot’s impressive progress in performing complex tasks using artificial intelligence.
Atlas, recently equipped with a Large Behavior Model (LBM) in collaboration with Toyota Research Institute (TRI), is able to understand and execute human-like behaviors in real environments using extensive human motion data.
In this video, Atlas is seen performing actions such as walking, sitting, lifting, packing, and sorting objects.
What is remarkable is the robot’s ability to continue working even in the face of intentional disruptions, such as being boxed up or pulled by engineers, without stopping or reacting unexpectedly.
The breakthrough, announced after Atlas’ absence from the Robot Olympics in China, represents a major leap forward in the development of humanoid robots with natural, adaptive behaviors.
