Bilateral talks between Masoud Pezhikian and Nikol Pashinyan were held in Yerevan

Private bilateral talks between Iranian President Masoud Pezzekian and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan were held on Tuesday morning (August 19), after an official welcoming ceremony at the country’s presidential palace.

The meeting took place during Pezdikian’s two-day official visit to Armenia, which was conducted at the official invitation of Pashinyan.

According to news sources, after the national anthems of the two countries were played, the negotiations initially began in public and continued in private after 20 minutes, lasting about an hour and a half.

During this meeting, 10 cooperation documents were signed in the fields of political, social, cultural, industrial, educational, tourism, road and urban development, art, and health, and the two sides also signed a joint statement.

Before the trip, Pezzekian mentioned strengthening relations with neighboring countries as one of Iran’s foreign policy priorities and stated that this trip is being carried out in line with the development of bilateral cooperation with Armenia as a friendly and neighboring country with historical and strategic relations.
