US Secretary of War’s unannounced visit to occupied Palestine

The Axios news website reported that US Secretary of War Pete Hegsett made an unannounced trip to occupied Palestine on Monday and met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Axios, citing two informed sources, wrote that the meeting took place with only eight days left until the Israeli general elections and that Washington and Tel Aviv are discussing the possibility of resuming large-scale attacks against Iran.

Israel’s Channel 13 television also reported that the meeting between Hegsett and Netanyahu lasted about two hours.

The US Department of War, the Israeli Embassy in Washington and the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office did not respond to requests for comment about the trip.
