Israeli airstrike on Sanaa’s energy infrastructure
The Israeli army officially announced that it had targeted energy infrastructure in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, with airstrikes in a military operation.
The regime also claimed to have bombed several targets in the outskirts of Sanaa.
According to Al Jazeera, two loud explosions were heard in the Yemeni capital, and some local news sources reported an attack on the power plant in the Haziz area south of Sanaa, which led to a massive fire and a temporary power outage in the city.
In response to these attacks, Hizam al-Assad, a member of the political bureau of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, stated: “The criminal and bankrupt enemy only targets service centers and civilian infrastructure.”
The attack came a few days after Ansar Allah of Yemen claimed responsibility for a missile attack on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv using a supersonic “Palestine 2” missile.
News sources have described this action as a response to recent Ansar Allah missile and drone attacks on targets in the occupied territories.
