A German-language newspaper, Wissenschaft, reports that part of the skull of a megaraptor dinosaur dating back more than 120 million years has been discovered in Britain, the first confirmed specimen of this type of dinosaur in Europe.
Megaraptor was a bipedal predatory dinosaur that reached a length of three to four meters; it hunted using the sickle-shaped claws of its forelimbs, which were about 20 centimeters long.
This discovery shows that Megaraptors also lived in Europe during the early Cretaceous period.
