Egypt’s Al-Azhar religious institution has called for the immediate formation of a committee of representatives from Arab and Islamic countries to mediate in resolving disputes and prevent the spread of division and conflict in the region.
This request comes as tensions between Yemen and Saudi Arabia have increased in recent days. According to Al Jazeera, nine people, including five children and two women, were martyred and 19 others were injured following an airstrike in Yemen’s Saada province on Sunday.
Based on the same report, six people were injured in Najran Province, Saudi Arabia, after being hit by a projectile fired by the Houthis.
