Shoigu: Drug production and trafficking from Afghanistan has decreased by nearly 90 percent
Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian National Security Council, has announced that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has fulfilled its commitments in the fight against drugs and has taken extensive measures to reduce the trafficking of these drugs.
TASS news agency quoted Shoigu as reporting that the Islamic Emirate has managed to stop a large part of the production and export of industrial drugs.
He emphasized that the production and transfer of industrial drugs from Afghanistan has decreased by nearly 90 percent compared to the past.
The Secretary of the Russian Security Council attributed this reduction to practical measures and efforts made to combat drug trafficking.
According to Shoigu, continued cooperation and joint actions in this sector can play an important role in ensuring regional security and preventing the spread of drug trafficking.
