Reports indicate that newly appointed White House spokeswoman Katie Zakaria has been fired just five days after being appointed.
His dismissal came after his first press conference at the White House, which was met with criticism over the way he responded to reporters.
Zakaria also confirmed, after questions about his legal background, that he had failed the bar exam, a matter that drew further criticism.
US President Donald Trump had previously said that he had advised Zakaria to reconsider his continued service in this position.
