Today Landslide in South Korea leaves one dead, three injured
A landslide in the city of Jeju in South Gyeongsang Province has left one dead and three injured following heavy rainfall in southern parts of South Korea.
According to reports, a landslide has engulfed a residential building, burying its first floor. Rescue workers rescued three residents, one of whom died in hospital.
The South Korean Meteorological Agency has issued a heavy rainfall warning for parts of the country’s south, with some areas recording up to 800 millimeters of rain since Saturday.
In the city of Geoje, overflowing rivers and flooded roads have disrupted traffic, and about 100 people have been evacuated due to the risk of landslides.
