Fox News quoted a senior American official as saying that Iran and the United States are “95 percent” close to an agreement, but the agreement is not set to be signed today or tomorrow.
Fox News correspondent Mekani Kelly wrote on the X Network that Donald Trump has set a deadline of 5 to 7 days to reach an agreement.
At the same time, the Sianan network reported, citing an American official, that finalizing the agreement with Iran will likely take a few more days.
The American official cited the long process of approving the text of the agreement by Iran and continuing discussions over some of the words and phrases in the document as the reason for the delay.
Based on this report, the United States believes that Iran has agreed to the general principles of the main provisions of the agreement, but consultations on the details of the text are still ongoing.
CNN also reported that after the agreement is finalized, an in-person signing ceremony between Iranian and American officials is likely to be held, and then a new round of negotiations will begin on the next steps of the agreement.
