Western media have reported that the real cost of the US war with Iran is much higher than the official figures. US Secretary of War Pete Hegsett announced in a congressional hearing that the cost of the war was $37.5 billion, but according to media sources, this figure does not include the costs of military construction and the reconstruction of damaged bases.
According to these reports, the US government has requested $67 billion in supplementary funding and $1.5 trillion in budget for the next fiscal year, of which $21 billion has been allocated to maintain combat readiness and replace spent weapons.
Reports also show that the estimated cost of the war has increased from $29 billion in May to $37.5 billion now, indicating the rapid growth in the costs of the conflict.
At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Iran of ignoring the negotiation process and warned that Washington would take the necessary measures to protect its interests and those of its allies. He also claimed that any Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz could threaten global trade.
