Afghanistan and Iran emphasize expanding cultural and educational tourism cooperation
Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Information and Culture, met with Ali Reza Bekdali, the Iranian Ambassador to Kabul, to discuss expanding tourism, cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of Information and Culture, the purpose of this meeting is to develop bilateral cooperation in the sectors of tourism, travel, pilgrimage, treatment, and education, increase tourist exchange, and implement joint cultural programs.
Referring to the friendly relations between Afghanistan and Iran, Molavi Qudratullah Jamal emphasized the need to provide more facilities for pilgrims, patients, and students, and called for holding educational and scientific seminars for professors of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management in Iran.
He also announced the drafting of a joint memorandum of understanding to develop cultural and tourism cooperation, and said that this document will be signed by both sides after it is finalized.
Ali Reza Bekdali, the Iranian ambassador to Kabul, also emphasized the expansion of bilateral cooperation, referring to the religious, cultural and civilizational commonalities between the two countries, and assured of providing more facilities in the tourism and pilgrimage sectors and holding joint educational programs for professors of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management.
In conclusion, the two sides emphasized the continuation of coordination and strengthening of joint cooperation in the fields of culture, education, and tourism.
