Strong earthquake in Venezuela leaves dozens dead, hundreds injured
A powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake shook northern parts of Venezuela, causing widespread damage in various regions of the country.
A tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake and local authorities have initiated emergency measures to protect citizens.
According to initial reports, at least 32 people have died and more than 700 others have been injured. Authorities have warned that the death toll could rise.
Reports indicate that two strong earthquakes occurred in Venezuela on Wednesday, with estimates of magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale.
Rescue teams are searching for and assessing the condition of the injured in the affected areas, and the extent of the damage is ongoing.
