Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has announced that US President Donald Trump plans to attend the NATO summit to be held in Ankara on July 7 and 8.
Responding to a question about the meeting, Fidan said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had spoken to Trump several times by phone last month.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also emphasized that despite some political statements about the future of NATO, the United States remains committed to its commitments to the alliance.
He added that there are no signs that warnings about a possible US withdrawal from NATO are being implemented, and that Washington’s cooperation with the alliance continues.
