Vote on Trump’s war powers resolution postponed in US House of Representatives

The US House of Representatives postponed a vote on the “War Powers Resolution” this Friday morning (22th of April)local time, which was aimed at limiting Donald Trump’s military actions in the war with Iran.

House Republican leaders decided to postpone the vote until after the Memorial Day holiday due to a lack of representative attendance and uncertainty about obtaining the majority needed to reject the resolution.

A number of Democratic representatives, including Jim McGovern, Pramila Jayapal, and Greg Cassar, condemned the decision, calling it a sign of the continuation of an “illegal war.”

According to these representatives, the continued clashes have resulted in the deaths of people, costing billions of dollars, and increased fuel prices.

It was previously announced that the US House of Representatives is set to vote on a bill that, if passed, would require Donald Trump to withdraw from war with Iran.
