Afghan Refugee Minister Meets with New Japanese Ambassador, Tokyo Approves $19.5 Million in Aid

Maulvi Abdul Kabir, Minister of Refugees and Returnees Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met and discussed with Kenichi Masamoto, the new Ambassador of Japan to Kabul.

In this meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on humanitarian aid, strengthening cooperation in the field of migrants, health education, and alternative drug cultivation.

During the meeting, the Japanese ambassador assured that his country would continue its cooperation with Afghanistan and announced that the Tokyo government had approved a new aid package worth $19.5 million to support the Afghan people.

During the meeting, Maulvi Abdul Kabir also emphasized the need to launch public benefit projects to create job opportunities for returnees and called on the international community to increase its cooperation with the needy people of Afghanistan.

The visit comes as efforts continue to attract international aid to support the return of refugees and improve living conditions in Afghanistan.
