Maulana Fazlur Rehman strongly criticizes Pakistan’s policies towards Afghanistan and fight against terrorism
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan (JUI-F), said that Pakistan’s policy towards Afghanistan has not been right for the past 78 years and its counter-terrorism strategy has not yielded any positive results.
Speaking to reporters, Fazlur Rehman emphasized that major decisions should be made by politicians and that military power should only be exercised after political decisions are made.
The leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam also strongly criticized the government’s refusal to allow a meeting with and even arrest of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, calling these actions wrong.
The statement comes as relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan remain tense, with security issues and terrorism being the main challenges facing the two countries.
