India: Pakistan are angry with Afghanistan’s sovereignty over its territory

A spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced that Islamabad is “angry” over Afghanistan’s exercise of full sovereignty over its territory, and that this is the root cause of the ongoing tensions between the two neighboring countries.

Randhir Jaiswal, in a press conference on Thursday (30) October (2025), stated that Pakistan thinks it has the right to practice cross-border terrorism with impunity; its neighbors find this unacceptable.

Emphasizing India’s consistent position, he added that New Delhi is fully committed to the national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence of Afghanistan and opposes any attempt to destabilize the country through support for terrorist groups.

These statements come as border talks between Kabul and Islamabad in Türkiye ended without results.

It is worth noting that India, as one of Afghanistan’s largest development partners, has repeatedly criticized Islamabad’s policies towards Kabul.
