Trump: I will solve the Russia-Ukraine crisis
US President Donald Trump said in a statement that he is determined to resolve the war crisis between Russia and Ukraine.
Asked when he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin again, he said: “The meeting will take place; we will resolve the situation between Russia and Ukraine. I am confident that we will do this.”
Trump, who had previously promised to end the war quickly, emphasized in an interview with CBS that he was pursuing peace talks seriously, although he acknowledged that this issue was more complicated than some of the other conflicts he claimed to have stopped.
He added: “I am monitoring the situation and I have spoken with Putin and Zelensky. Something will happen, but they are not ready yet, but we will do it.”
These statements come as Russia continues its attacks on Ukraine and diplomatic efforts to achieve peace face serious challenges.
