Russia appreciates Uzbekistan’s efforts to boost regional trade with Afghanistan
A senior Russian official praised Uzbekistan’s efforts to strengthen regional trade and economic cooperation and stressed the strategic importance of the new international trade center near the border with Afghanistan.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said at a conference at the Termez International Trade Center that the development of the Sorkhan Darya region is a unique area with high economic potential.
He added that the Termez Trade Center, located in the free trade zone, is a major step towards strengthening trade relations, especially between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, and is expected to play a key role in expanding economic relations and strategic partnerships in the Eurasian region.
Galuzin also noted Russia’s growing interest in participating in the project and called for further expansion of cooperation.
