Australian Senator Calls for New Laws Not to Be Applied to Australian Troops in Afghanistan
Australian Senator and One Nation Party leader Pauline Hanson has supported her party’s proposed amendment to the laws governing the operation of Australian forces in Afghanistan.
Hanson has said that soldiers should be tried under the laws that were in effect at the time they were on duty, and that subsequent changes to the law should not be applied to past events.
He added that valid allegations should be investigated, but military personnel should not face unfair judicial processes due to subsequent legal changes.
