Nigerian police say 10 police officers and 17 attackers were killed and two other police officers were injured in a clash with a group of armed men in Kebbi state in the northwestern part of the country.
The clash broke out on Monday after police forces identified and stopped an armed group as they were moving from Zamfara state towards Kebbi, Reuters reported.
Police said that reinforcements have been dispatched to the scene and that the situation in the area is now under the control of security forces. Operations are also ongoing to identify and arrest the fleeing armed men.
