UN warns of catastrophic humanitarian situation in Sudan, half a million displaced

A member of the UN fact-finding mission in Sudan has described the humanitarian situation in the country as “catastrophic” and warned that the crisis has reached dangerous levels.

He said that civilians are in a critical condition following the attacks by the “Rapid Support Forces,” and this situation has raised serious concerns.

According to this report, people in the cities of “Al-Abyad” and “Al-Fasher” are facing severe problems, and about half a million people have been displaced.

The UN has also reported widespread damage to infrastructure and called the humanitarian situation in Al-Abyad city dangerous.

The UN fact-finding mission has urged the parties to the conflict to heed calls for a political solution to the conflict and an end to the crisis.
