Macron’s aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle returns to Toulon port
French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle will return to its home port in Toulon.
He said that he considers the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States an important progress towards regional stability and emphasized that this development plays a role, especially in the field of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Macron added that, given this change in the situation and needs, it has been decided to return the aircraft carrier to its home base.
He also said that French minesweeping equipment and escort units remain deployed in the region and are on standby with international partners.
