Uzbekistan and Qatar emphasize expanding cooperation and supporting sustainable development of Afghanistan
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has announced that in a meeting between Ismatullah Argashev, the country’s special representative for Afghanistan, and Hassan Hamza Hashim, Qatar’s ambassador to Tashkent, ways to expand bilateral cooperation and support the sustainable development of Afghanistan were discussed.
According to the ministry’s statement, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on cooperation in the sectors of trade, investment, transport, logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian initiatives.
Regional developments and ways to strengthen coordination between the two countries on issues related to Afghanistan were also discussed during the meeting.
The Uzbek Foreign Ministry added that the Qatari side appreciated Tashkent’s continuous efforts to support the reconstruction and economic revival of Afghanistan and considered Uzbekistan’s role in strengthening stability, regional connectivity, and economic development of Afghanistan to be important.
The two sides agreed to continue the talks.
They emphasized practical cooperation and support for initiatives that contribute to peace, economic development, and increased regional connectivity related to Afghanistan.
