The US State Department announced that the Israeli regime and Lebanon have reached an agreement, with Washington’s mediation, on a ceasefire and the creation of “test zones” for the establishment and control of security by the Lebanese army.
At the same time, Axios reported, citing informed sources, that the two sides had reached an understanding on a comprehensive ceasefire plan, the implementation of which was conditional on Hezbollah fulfilling certain commitments.
However, senior Hezbollah member Mahmoud Qamati, emphasizing that the issue of resistance weapons is an internal Lebanese issue, rejected any foreign interference in this regard, and said that decisions on this matter should be made solely within the framework of internal Lebanese agreements.
This is despite the fact that previous ceasefire agreements between Lebanon and Israel, announced by the United States, were not fully implemented, and clashes and reciprocal attacks have continued.
