US President Donald Trump has announced that he has ordered the US Navy to target and destroy mine-laying ships if they are spotted in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz.
He claimed in statements that he meant small ships as well as ships related to these activities, and claimed that 159 ships were already on the seabed.
Trump has also claimed that American minesweeping forces are currently busy clearing the Strait of Hormuz and has ordered this operation to continue with greater intensity.
