A US Congressman Criticizes the Plan to Transfer Afghans to Congo

A member of the United States Congress has described the move as a “cruel betrayal” in response to reports that the Donald Trump administration is in talks with the Democratic Republic of Congo to resettle 1,100 Afghan citizens.

This is while these Afghans are in Qatar waiting to receive their United States visas, and the process of reviewing their immigration applications has virtually stopped.

Reports indicate that these individuals remain in an uncertain and uncertain situation more than four years after the withdrawal of American forces from Kabul.
