IOM expresses concern over forced deportation of Afghan migrants from Pakistan
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has expressed concern over the massive and forced deportation of Afghan migrants from Pakistan and called on the government to stop the process as soon as possible.
The newsletter states that since late 2023, more than 5 million Afghans have returned to the country from neighboring countries, which has further negatively affected the already poor humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
The organization has called on Pakistan to stop the detention and forced deportation of Afghan refugees and facilitate their voluntary return in accordance with international law and in cooperation with global institutions.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has stressed that Afghan migrants should not be used for political purposes.
