Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel announced in an interview with Russia Today that his country had long been preparing for an energy “blockade” scenario, a scenario that has become more likely with the possible return of Donald Trump to power.
He said the Cuban government has developed a strategy to address structural economic problems, aiming to generate growth and manage crises caused by external pressures.
Referring to the long-standing embargo against Cuba, Diaz-Canel stressed that Cuba has been under siege for more than 60 years… “We have survived and resisted.”
“If Cuban forces have sacrificed their lives defending Venezuela, why shouldn’t millions of people defend Cuba?” he added in a sharp tone.
