The International Atomic Energy Agency announced that Iran had informed the agency that a projectile had hit near the Bushehr nuclear power plant site this morning; this is the fourth such incident in recent weeks.
According to Iran’s report to the International Atomic Energy Agency, one of the employees of the power plant’s physical protection department was killed by shrapnel and an adjacent building was damaged as a result of the attack.
The IAEA stressed that no increase in radiation levels has been reported.

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, expressed his deep concern about the incident and said that nuclear sites or areas close to them should never be attacked.
Reiterating his call for maximum military restraint to prevent the risk of a nuclear accident, Grossi once again emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of nuclear safety and security in times of conflict.
