Citing informed sources in the US intelligence community, the Cianan network reported that Washington believes China is developing a new generation of nuclear weapons.
According to the report, US intelligence officials believe that Beijing has conducted at least one secret explosive test in recent years, and that these actions are part of China’s broader effort to transform its nuclear arsenal into the most technologically advanced in the world.
These new weapons include multiple-reentry vehicle (MIRV) systems as well as low-yield tactical nuclear weapons, capabilities that China did not previously possess.
