The main perpetrator of the assassination attempt on General Vladimir Alekseev was arrested in Dubai and extradited to Russia
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that Lyubomir Korba, a Russian citizen and the direct perpetrator of the armed attack on General Vladimir Alekseev, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, was arrested in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and extradited to Russia.
The arrest was made in close cooperation with UAE security authorities, and Korba has been transferred to Russia.
The FSB also announced that accomplices to the crime had been identified; one of them, named Srebrenica, fled to Ukraine after the incident.
Search operations to identify and arrest other organizers and agents involved in this terrorist act are continuing.
It is recalled that General Alekseev was the target of an armed attack in a residential building in northwest Moscow on Friday morning and was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
