Former Chilean President Nominated for UN Secretary-General

The United Nations General Assembly spokesperson announced that Michelle Bachelet, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Chile’s first female president, has been nominated as the next UN Secretary-General.

Bachelet, who has a long history in human rights and politics, has now officially entered the race to succeed Antonio Guterres as UN Secretary-General.
